Captainโ€™s Noon Reports โ€“ Gallant Lady โ€“ 2024-09-14

Good afternoon, everyone,

NGL at anchor at west side of Danzante island ft depth 90 ft 4.5 shots out.
Weather Conditions Light Southeast wind at anchorage, Seas calm at anchorage, sunny sky, some clouds at the horizon 3/8, air temp 33C.

Yesterday afternoon we did two dives at El Hongo and Honeymoon bay where it was shelter as afternoon winds were strong. Dives were good, lot of fishes, some groupers, but mainly eels and rays, a few zones of black coral. Divers enjoyed the afternoon dives, some of them wanted to skip the last dive to take a time to relax.

This morning, dives have been great, we did the first dive at the artificial reef on the east side of Danzante island where it was great, lot of life, lot of fishes, snappers, groupers, some jacks, among others, a couple of sea turtles, electric eels, moray eels, rays and octupus.

Viz was around 15mts at surface but deeper than 18 mts was green and cool 25C and 30C at surface. On that side of the island was windy and there was 3-4 ft SE swell, it could see how the seas were breaking on the south point of Carmen Island.

Second dive was on the ship wreck C59, almost same conditions there clear and warm at surface but green and cool deeper than 18 mts. But lot of life as well, a lot of coral, lot of fishes around, some divers could saw a couple of sea horses. On this side weather conditions were better, light wind and 1-2 ft swell coming from the SE, breaks of water at the south point of Danzante island were visible.

Planning two more dives for this afternoon. We will look howโ€™s the swell to go to Carmen Island for the last dive. Planning to leave right after dinner to Las Animas, monitoring the weather looks like it wonโ€™t be rough.
