You can't complain about 7 Hammerhead Sharks schooling above you while a Manta Ray, as if on cue, glides through the middle of them at The Canyon

The last 6 days of diving have been amazing. The Nautilus Explorer and her crew are top notch and the diving in Socorro is second to none. The DMs (Liz and Janice) were amazing. They are unbelievably knowledgeable and willing to lend a helping hand with any gear or breathing gas needs. The hostesses (Katie and Lauren) are always there to keep you hydrated, full of snacks, and to make sure that you don’t want for that next beer or margarita. The food was incredible and Jayne is a great chef and accommodated everyone’s dietary needs on board. Hernan is the world’s greatest inflatable driver and always keeps things lively. As for the diving, the Giant Mantas showed up on almost every dive, the humpback whales were singing on the majority of them, and the sharks cooperated on a few to make this a truly memorable trip. You can’t complain about 7 Hammerhead Sharks schooling above you while a Manta Ray, as if on cue, glides through the middle of them at The Canyon. The topography of the dive sites makes for some great terrain exploration and the rebreather support on the boat allowed us to have some truly memorable long dives seeing the local critters and exploring what was over the next ridge. This is definitely the trip of a lifetime and I’ve been lucky enough to do it the last two years in a row and I’ll definitely keep coming back. –
