We finished up a great two days of diving at Roca Partida yesterday and with calm seas we motored to Socorro Island. We are on the east end of the volcanic rock at Cabo Pearce. Guests have been treated to a manta show on the first dive. Two to three big mantas hung out with the guests once they plunged in and headed down the reef. There is a bulbous mound that forms in the middle of the dive site and the mantas love to come to this area to get cleaned by a small group off barber fish. The yellow and black striped barber fish wait patiently at the mound until the mantas come in close. The fish start pecking at the mantas. Our guests are treated to a real show. There were some white tip reef sharks that laid on the rocky ledges of the site and it is also a good place to see scorpion fish and tropical flounder, as they both camouflage themselves into the rock seascape. Guests got their fill of large sharks and massive tuna at Roca Partida yesterday and they were missing the mantas. They are getting their fill again with the full manta experience today. We are finishing up three dives then headed to do the navy inspection then racing back to get a dusk dive then a great dinner from chef Enrique, after we will be plunging in for a night dive. The crew are working hard to make sure all the guests are getting their dives in this charter and keeping them updated with world cup scores. Guest are good, Crew good. I have planned to do another dive before dinner then we are doing a night dive tonight before we move over to San Ben where we are doing four dives tomorrow then dinner then the Silky snorkel, before we depart to Cabo. We will do a cheese and wine party on the sea day because the crossing looks nice. All guests and crew are happy!
