Captain’s Noon Report – Belle Amie – 2018-10-23

Location: 29.08.19N – 118.17.7W
Weather: visibility today is at least 100Ft, water is 70F and air is 75F.
Status: Guadalupe Island , 245 Ft down to the bottom

Today is a sunny day for the second time in a row! Master in Commander Lowell on the NEX brought us the good weather, light breeze from the south, flat seas and great shark action. This morning within the first hour of the surface cages being opened we had more breaches than we do on a full day of Guadalupe dives, not sure what was going on but we all enjoyed the action. Some of the guests rushed to their dive suits to get in the water. Yesterday we had this one huge female shark, at night shark ID did not help much to id her but Casey (divemaster) stayed around till he found her. This beauty is named SCARLET! She’s a huge beautiful shark! We’ve seen lots of yellowfin tunas all around, preying on the little fish.
