Captain’s Noon Report – Explorer – 2020-02-26

Location: Socorro Island
Weather: Sunny skies, 15-18 knots of N wind, WNW ground swell 5-7′, Visibility 60′, Water Temperature 75 F
Status: Anchored at Punta Tosca

We finished the day yesterday with one more dive at Cabo Pearce with a strong current, but still saw plenty of animals. After visiting the navy it was silky snorkel time at Punta Tosca. Today there was a strong current on the first dive, but almost none on the second. On the first dive, we had lots of sharks: Galapagos, whitetips, silvertips and a few hammerheads. We also had many lobsters and a huge school of parrotfish. On the second dive, they saw 2 mantas and a lucky few saw two humpback whales swim through the dive site! Everyone could hear them singing.
