Captain’s Noon Report – Explorer – 2020-08-30

Location: San Ildefonso
Weather: Sun is shining, Wind SE 10-14 knots, Swell SE 3′
Status: Just wrapping up our 2nd dive of the day.

Our anchorage is protected from the wind and swell, so it’s a beautiful day. We did 2 dives at La Reina yesterday, they were good but no mantas. There were some bottlenose dolphins around yesterday all afternoon but they were hunting and not interested in people. We tried some snorkeling a couple times and a few people did see them though. As soon as dive 2 was over we got underway to San Ildefonso and arrived here at 1115 today. Diving here today has been nice, lots of fish: groupers, snapper, pompano, and a turtle. There is a pod of dolphins hanging around a little ways out as well! We’ll do 3 dives here today then head for San Pedro Martir as soon as the last dive is done for an early morning arrival there tomorrow.
