Captain’s Noon Report – Explorer – 2020-09-25

Location: Las Animas

Status: Visibility 30 meters

Weather: temperature 28 degrees Celsius

Yesterday afternoon we did 2 dives at Los Islotes. We had a lot of sea lions playing around with the divers. Beautiful, amazing, wonderful were some of the reactions from the guests. Visibility 30 meters and temperature 28 degrees Celsius. We sat course up to Las Animas and had an amazing sunset with plenty of dolphins jumping high around the vessel. We slowed down so all the guests could go forward and take pictures of the dolphins playing and jumping around us. It was almost no wind at all as we approaching Las Animas but just as we were about to drop anchor the wind increased to very strong NNE, I decided to go behind San Jose Island to seek shelter for the night. In the morning we started to make our way up to Las Animas again and this time the wind had dropped down to NE 10 kn and the sea approx 0.5-1 meter. First Dive in the morning was around the small islands north of Las Animas. A slow current took the divers around the islands. Nuddies, school of fishes and a very nice dive. Dive number 2 we checked out some small caverns. More sea lions playing with the divers. Visibility 30 meters. Temperature in the water around 28 degrees Celsius. We are now doing dive number 3 for today here at Las Animas and later this evening we are offering an evening dive or a hike on the Island to watch the sun set. The plan for tomorrow is to do 4 dives around San Francisco Island. All the guests and crew are doing great!
