Captain’s Noon Report – Explorer – 2020-11-04

Location: El Canyon

First dive day of the trip! Arrived to El Canyon area last night. There were calm winds and 5-6′ gentle swells overnight. Beautiful sunrise and start to our dive day this morning. The checkout dive began from back deck and all groups enjoyed. Dive two we dropped at manta rock. Multiple close encounters with hammerheads on both dives as well as many giant mantas. There was one report of a tiger shark. A large black manta was BREACHING on the surface as divers returned from dive two. Very cool! We plan to do two more dives here today and intend to relocate to the boiler early tomorrow morning.
