Captain’s Noon Report – Belle Amie – 2020-11-07

Location: Anchored at Roca Partida

We completed one more dive yesterday at Cabo Pearce then relocated to the navy base for inspection. Following that clearance we relocated to Punta Tosca where we set up for our silky snorkel. Swimmers had multiple close passes from 6-8 sharks. First two dives at the rock have been amazing! Visibility well over 150′ with water temp at depth reading in the mid 80s F. Multiple shark species present, mantas, schools of jacks and tuna. This was a dive that surprised me at every minute. The clear waters, a kaleidoscope of schooling fish on the north point of the rock, with 6 different species of shark sighted, including a surprise whaleshark!!! Perhaps two. Multiple mantas doing their best to still get some attention. Of almost 4,000 dives under my personal weight belt, this stands out as the best. An absolutely astounding site, worthy of the world heritage designation. Our plan is to remain here at Roca Partida for a second day of dives tomorrow.
