It’s a beautiful day, approaching anchorage in Bahia Santa Maria. . Our sardine hunters returned to the ship yesterday around 1630. Snorkelers jumped in a number of times with sights of marlin. Two groups encountered a pair of humpback whales just outside the bay and stayed with them hoping for interaction. The whales didn’t come too close but all the guests enjoyed the encounter. The guests were excited for a pre-breakfast dive near the San Lazaro lighthouse before loading the pangas. Divers jumped in for this exploratory checkout dive from the swim deck. Some kelp growth, one report of an octopus, and a sea turtle sighting.
