Captain’s Noon Report – Undersea – 2020-11-17

Location: Cabo Pearce, The Canyon

Status: Winds NE 12-16 kts, seas NE 4-6 ft.

Yesterday we dove Cabo Pearce – excellent dives! Third dive strong current to the South, visibility around 70-80 ft. Really good action with mantas, hammerheads, and dolphins playing with the divers. Last dive yesterday was good, 3 or 4 mantas, schools of hammerheads and some galapagos sharks. Today we are in The Canyon, first dive strong current to the West, visibility around 80 ft, water temperature around 28 C,. Excellent sea life here! Hammerheads in schools of 20’s or 30’s, silvertips and galapagos on the receiver, dolphins, one juvenile manta, 3 chevron and 2 black mantas. The cherry on top was two tiger sharks – one of them was very very big. Second dive had the same conditions but without current, similar animal action, 5 mantas coming and going, school of hammerheads, and again the tiger sharks, the big one and one more juvenile. Canyon is really good today.
