Captain’s Noon Report – Belle Amie – 2020-11-19

Location: El Canyon. 19.17.77N 110-48.65W

Status: 82F water temperature, 80+ft visibility. Winds N 5-10knts, seas 2-3 feet wrap around swell. Clear skies

Perfect morning at San Benedicto. Dive number 1 was absolutely amazing. Waters around 82F with 80+ ft vis, strong current. Divers saw dozens of hammerheads, some galapagos sharks, silvertips, two tiger sharks, 3 or 4 mantas, and a large adult whale shark! Second dive had similar conditions, a bit less current. Many dozens (possibly triple digits!) of hammerheads in the deep blue. Quite a few came in for close approaches and all divers were able to get good looks. There were sightings of one tiger shark. All guests have been amazed by this first taste of Socorro diving and are excited for more.
