Captain’s Noon Report – Belle Amie – 2020-12-02

Location: El Boiler, Roca Partida

Status: Einds NW @5-8 knts, Seas NW 3-5′ fairly gentle. Skies clear. Up to 100 ft visibility, water temperature 82 F. Little current

We completed two more dives yesterday afternoon at the Boiler. The divers were treated with a fantastic mantas show, with at least 7 giant mantas, 4 chevron and 3 black, circling all three groups for the entirety of the dives. It was amazing, and everybody got a good look. Seemed to me that two black mantas were competing in some way, possibly for the amorous attention of the ladies…

We had a smooth overnight sail to Roca Partida. Our two dives completed already today show us a place filled with life. Huge school of skipjacks, the usual jacks and dozens and dozens of galapagos and silvertip sharks. One giant manta flying through the crowds. Divers enjoyed the experience and are excited for the rest of the day.
