Captain’s Noon Report – Belle Amie – 2020-12-04

Location: Roca Partida, Roca O’Neal (18-49.73N 111-03.37W)

Status: Winds N@ 10-15knts, Seas N @3-6′. Visibility 80 ft, water temperature 80 F

We completed two more great dives yesterday at Roca Partida. Lots and lots of sharks, groups of silvertips, occasionally galapagos, and the usual whitetips, all actively swimming through the huge schools of creole fish and skipjacks. Large yellow fin tuna also made appearances, as did some hammerheads. All divers were very satisfied. The sea conditions were very calm and our overnight ride to Socorro island was pleasant. We arrived at Roca O’Neal this morning. The guides reported mild current, visibility around 60-80′ and warm 80F waters. A couple of friendly mantas were there as divers explored the topography of the site. We plan to finish this dive and then relocate to an area South of Punta Tosca for a third dive, followed by the silky snorkel to wrap up the trip.
