Captain’s Noon Report – Belle Amie – 2021-02-12

Location: At punta tosca today

Weather: Wind is from the NW 15 occasional 20, but nice inside the anchorage. Clear skies today.

We were on our way to Cabo Pearce last night but found out we would have been the 3rd boat there so changed course to Tosca. Two dives done here so far today, first dive was ok. 2nd dive was really good, with several playful mantas around as well as a couple hammerhead sightings. All the guests came back very happy. Current was moderate on the first dive and is now mild. Vis 40-60ft, water temp 23C. Doing 3rd dive here now and then we’ll go do navy check-in and our night snorkel at Cabo Pearce. Wind looks like it’ll be up for the next couple days so plan is to dive Cabo Pearce tomorrow, then maybe another day back at the Canyon and then last two days at Roca Partida. All guests and crew doing great!

I’m interested in knowing about the water temperatures you’re currently experiencing?

I’m heading to Socorro for the end of February trip and I seeing some very cold temperatures in the 60’s, which is 10 degrees colder than normal.

Hi Kathleen, The noon report reported that the water is 23C = 75F and the surface temp is the same. Enjoy your Socorro trip!
