Captain’s Noon Report – Belle Amie – 2021-03-11

Location: Today we are anchored at Cabo Pearce.

Weather actually pretty nice today, wind from the north around 5 kts occasionally gusting to 10 to 15kts.Pretty calm this morning around the point, building a little now this afternoon, 2′.

After dinner we had our silky snorkel. It was a lot of fun, a few dolphins showed up and there were around 10 silkies around, coming really close to everyone. A school of small fish showed up near the end of the snorkel and the silkies started to get excited. Everyone had had a good time. Diving today here at Cabo Pearce has been great. On the first dive a big whale shark came by two of the groups! Close enough for some good pics and video. Many divers also saw a school of hammerheads. On dive 2 a friendly manta spent some time with most of the divers. All to the soundtrack of humpback whale song. Looking forward to some more manta lovin’ after lunch. Tonight we plan to head for Canyon right after dinner.
