Captain’s Noon Report – Explorer – 2021-06-03 (Anchored at Fondeadero)

Location: Anchored at Fondeadero

Weather: Cloudy. Moderate Wind (6-7kts) and Smooth Seas (1-3ft swell)

64ft of water below the Nautilus Explorer and 2.5 shackles of chain out in the water. The crossing from Punta Tosca to San Benedicto was a little bumpy but not bad. Yesterday we finished the day in Punta Tosca with our silky shark snorkel. Exciting experience for our guests. When we finished we picked up the anchor and we departed directly to San Benedicto.

Our first dive was really good. We had manta rays and hammerhead sharks swimming around us and they stayed with us all dive.

Visibility: 30ft

Water Temperature: 23°C

For the second dive, as soon as the divers jumped into the water they encountered a manta ray and the cleaning station was full of sharks – school of hammerhead sharks, lots of whitetip sharks and Galapagos sharks. There was a light current at the beginning of the dive and moderate towards the end.

Visibility: 25ft

Water Temperature: 23°C
