Captain’s Noon Reports – Belle Amie – 2022-01-12

Location: The Boiler

Weather: Overcast Skies, NE Wind (12-15kts), NE Swell (5-7ft)

We finished two more dives yesterday at the boiler, with good manta action on both. The winds and seas subsided somewhat during the afternoon and we finished the day with all divers pleased. With some still slightly unpleasant motion in the ocean we relocated to Canyon for dinner before getting underway for Roca. Our overnight transit was relatively smooth and we arrived here to anchor at 0600.

Winds this morning were a steady 10-15 and by mid day they had formed up some semi-agressive wind waves on top of the swell. Skiff boardings from the swim step have been sporty. But we have enough divemasters and other hands to ensure safety for all of the guests.

The action on the dives has been slow. The divemasters on the first dive reported three white tip reef sharks.

Water temperature: 78°F

Visibility: 70ft+
