Captain’s Noon Reports – Gallant Lady – 2023-04-07

NGL and Rhib are looking for any sea life north of Cerralvo Island and around La Reina. The wind is calming down, after blowing 12 knots all morning from the north, and the swell has built up 2-3ft from the north. Only 4 guests on the RHIB including the family cook who try to beat his record from yesterday – 11 hours at sea!

This morning guest Steve joined them after breakfast and we encountered a humpback whale, a jumping marlin, turtles, and some dolphins. The search with the plane was not very successful as it was not easy with the north wind and lots of white caps in the channel.

Yesterday afternoon we were very happy with a massive school of mobulas in front of the beach El Saltito. Only 4 guests went in the RHIB (family cook), and the other 3 guests preferred to enjoy from the NGL. This was a great encounter with the mobulas, so many jumping at the same time and close swimming up in the water. Young snorkeler Bella says a mobula almost landed on top of her head after leaping out of the water.

From the NGL we followed a pod of around 50 bottlenose dolphins that swam in the wake of the boat.
We spent the night anchored down at Bahia de Los Muertos. Tonight, we will head for Cabo San Lucas,
