Captain’s Noon Reports – Explorer – 2023-05-04

Good afternoon, everyone,

NEX anchored at San Benedicto, 50 ft depth, 2 shots paid out. Arrived here last night and since then the wind has been blowing, right now we have 20 knots gusting from NW and 2 ft wrapping swell, dive conditions are fair, the water temperature is 24 Celsius and visibility is 15 meters, and cloudy sky.

We started with our check dive from the stern of the boat. During this dive, the divers saw 2 mantas, some scattered white tips, and lobsters. Dive number 2 was the Canyon. It was a good dive since lots of life was seen by our divers, mantas, hammerheads, whitetips, silver tips, Galapagos, silky sharks, and the usual reef fish. We will have 2 more dives here and after dinner, we will move to Socorro and dive Cabo Pearce tomorrow.
