Captain’s Noon Reports – Explorer – 2023-05-07

Hi everyone,

NEX anchored at Socorro Island diving in Punta Tosca. Arrived here during the night and started diving at 0700. Mother Ocean had been generous today with us, we have done 2 dives and both were pretty good.

During dive one, the divers did see a pod of dolphins, at least 10 of them, 5 or 6 mantas at the same time, scattered hammerheads, and lobsters. They also really enjoyed the topography of the site. Dive 2 was pretty much the same but no dolphins.

All the guests are happy, and the dive conditions are good. Outside the finger visibility is 20 meters, water temperature 23.5 Celsius, NW wind 18 knots, and 25 Celsius air temperature. After dive number 3 we will proceed to the Navy base and after that move to Cabo Pearce.
