Captain’s Noon Reports – Explorer – 2023-05-21

Good afternoon, everyone, NEX anchored at San Benedicto, diving Canyon, very windy today NW wind 15 knots and gusting 20 knots plus, 3 ft wrapping swell here in the anchorage but it is not a problem for our guests to get on and off the skiffs.

We have done two great dives at the Canyon. During both dives our guests did have encounters with many mantas, both kinds, black and chevron, tuna fish, lots of sharks, different species like Galapagos sharks, hammerheads schooling, white tips, silver tips, and during dive one a small pod of dolphins made a quick pass. All our divers are having a great time, visibility is not that good but we have at least 12 meters, water temperature is around 24 Celsius. Our plan is to do another 2 dives here and then move the boat to Socorro and dive Pearce tomorrow.
