Captain’s Noon Reports – Gallant Lady – 2023-05-26

Today we are searching the Cerralvo channel. The wind is NW 10-15, with 2′ seas in the northern part of the channel. In the south calm and light breeze. Overcast sky.

Started this morning with mobulas at Punta Arenas, then after breakfast headed north up the west coast of Cerralvo island. Halfway up we found a solitary blue whale and the rhib went out and followed along for a while. Had a great look at the blue up close from the rhib and drone. Now searching the south point of Cerralvo and waiting for the airplane to go up and see what they can find. Will depart for Cabo after dinner tonight. Unfortunately, no Orcas this week, praying for a last-minute miracle.
