Captain’s Noon Reports – Belle Amie – 2024-01-08

Belle is at Punta Tosca today. Wind from the north 10-15kts, WNW swell around 5-6′, sky mostly cloudy today, air temp 24C. NUS is here with us as well.

Yesterday afternoon we ended up doing our last dive of the day back at the Canyon because diving at the Boiler was a bit quiet and swell quite big. Turned out to be the right move, we had a great dive with a lot of big sharks around the cleaning station coming in close including hammers and Galapagos.

As we were starting the dive there was a mom and calf humpback about a quarter mile behind the Belle coming up several times saying hello and giving us a nice fluke show. First whales of the season for us yesterday.

Two dives done here at Tosca today and both have been very good. Some playful mantas around on both dives and one group had some hammerheads on the first dive inside the inner finger, so guests are having a good day today. Water temp 26C, vis is around 15m. Just starting third dive now and after that we’ll head to the navy base for check-in and up to Cabo Pearce to spend the day tomorrow.
