Captain’s Noon Reports – Belle Amie – 2024-01-14

The Belle is anchored near the Canyon today. Beauty of a day, mainly clear sky with a light breeze out of the NE, 1-2′ swell wrapping around from the W, air temp 27C. We’ve got the place all to ourselves today, despite some traffic here last night. Everyone else departed for the Boiler this morning.

Morning dives have gone well. A couple manta sightings on the checkout dive, but the second dive delivered a school of 25-30 hammerheads, lots of big Galapagos around the cleaning station, silver-tips, and a big chevron manta cruising around as well.

Current is strong today, water temp 26C, viz a very nice 20-25m. We’ll do a couple more at the Canyon this afternoon then head for west side of Socorro to take advantage of this nice weather and try Roca Oneal and maybe Cabo Henslow/Tosca. All guests and crew are doing well.
