Captain’s Noon Reports – Under Sea – 2024-01-25

NUS Anchored at 19°17.4N-110°48.4W, in 50ft depth, San Benedicto Island Canyon, air temperature 74°F, we have a sunny day, strong winds from the NNW this morning of 12 knots, and gusts of 17 knots, now is getting better, the swell from the NW of 3 ft long period.

This morning two dives were made in the Canyon, with visibility 80ft, water temperature 77|F, strong current to the west in the first dive, and for the second it was moderate towards the same direction.

Today, our mother nature supported us with a large school of hammerhead sharks, several Galapagos sharks, silvertips, 3 manta rays, 2 chevrons and one black mobula. All guests were happy to see the hammerhead sharks very close on both dives.

We planned two more dives in the afternoon in the canyon. All guests and crew were happy with no problems.
