Captain’s Noon Reports – Explorer – 2024-02-03

NEX at anchor in Cabo Pierce, WX: Wind 14-18 kts NNE, Waves NNE 5-6 FT, partially cloudy. Underwater conditions: Vis: 15 m, t°= 24°C, Current: no current, a little bit of surge.

1st and 2nd dive: Great: School of tuna eating Mackerels, At least 4 mantas, up to 25 dolphins, hammer heads, silkies, One Morena interacting with a Jack like a dance.

Yesterday at the Canyon we could do only 3 dives because of too many boats on the site (4). On the last dive they saw: 1 manta, Galapagos, Hammer head and silvertips.

On the site also visibility was not good so we took the decision to move to Cabo Pierce immediately after third dive to arrive to Pierce before 9 pm when it was forecasted the wind to blow above 24 kts. Just 5 minutes before arriving wind started to blow with almost 30 kts.

All divers doing it good now.
