Captain’s Noon Reports – Gallant Lady – 2024-02-27

NGL today was searching the Machado corridor from Agua Verde to Isla San Francisco. Wind this morning was strong from the WSW with white caps, calming down once we neared the San Jose channel.

We spotted a couple humpbacks traveling north and watched them for about half hour getting a few decent sightings with guests out in the rhib. Shortly after we saw a small pod of common dolphins and spent around 15 minutes with them.

After lunch we arrived at the sealion colony at San Francisco and did a great snorkel with the sealions who were very playful and guests had lots of fun with them. Now we are anchored at Isla San Francisco. Everyone was tired and no one wanted to go ashore so they are all relaxing in the salon and in their rooms.

Yesterday was a great day with lots of whale sightings and a nice shore picnic and taco night at Agua Verde. We’ll depart for Punta Colorada around 1830 and be alongside API tomorrow morning 0700.
