Captain’s Noon Reports – Explorer – 2024-05-19

NEX anchored just south of the Boiler today. Wind is a pleasant 6-10kts from the NW, swell 4-6′ from the WNW, sky clear. Air temp 26C, water temp 24C. Viz today a very nice 25m.

Spent the night anchored on the north side of the lava flow to escape the westerly swell that was rolling into the canyon anchorage.

This morning, we did 2 great dives at the Boiler and currently just wrapping up number 3. It’s manta loving’ all around here today. At least 5 individuals around on both dives with having great interaction with all the divers on both dives. A few Galapagos and white tips around as well.

Current is mild. Quino arrived for dive 2 as well so we are sharing the site with them. Plan after dive 4 is have dinner down at the Canyon then head out to Roca Partida.

Quino also planning to go to Roca tonight. Rocio is there today but leaving tonight.
