Captain’s Noon Reports – Explorer – 2024-05-23

NEX anchored near the Boiler today tucked in behind the rocks. Wind today is NW 7-11kts with a WNW 4-6′ swell, clear skies, air temp 26C, water temp 23C (a couple degrees colder here at San Benedicto than RP and Socorro). Viz is a beautiful blue 25m, current is mild.

We spent the day at Roca Oneal and Tosca and we had a very good day with good manta action at Tosca, and some mantas and dolphins at Oneal.

After dinner last night we left for San Benedicto with plans to dive the Canyon today, but woke up to Valentina, Southern Sport, Quino, NUS, and ourselves all with the same plan. So, we are diving Boiler today and we’ll do Canyon tomorrow. Southern Sport also planning to dive a second day at Canyon tomorrow. Valentina planning to go to RP.

Boiler is awesome so far today. First dive we had great dolphin action, Tiger shark, a couple hammerheads and several mantas in the mix. Second dive was 5 different mantas all over the divers, great dive.

We’ll do our 4th dive today down around manta highway/south point to ensure our spot in the lineup for Canyon tomorrow.
