Captain’s Noon Reports – Under Sea – 2024-05-23

NUS Anchored at 19°17.7N-110°48.5W, in 60ft depth, in El Cañon area, San Benedicto Island, clear sky, windy this morning but now improving nw 10 kn, 2ft waves in the shelter.

This morning many boats appeared in the Canyon area, 5 boats with the intention of diving at this site but some decided to move to the Boiler and we were only 3 boats left in the Canyon.

Two dives were made this morning, visibility 60ft, water temperature 71°F, current Light towards the east. Divers saw 1 manta, several Galapagos sharks, Hammerheads, Silvertips, Whitetips by the cleaning station and tons of reef fish.

Planning two dives more in the afternoon. Sharing the site with Quino and Southern.
