Captainโ€™s Noon Reports โ€“ Belle Amie โ€“ 2024-08-05

Belle anchored at San Ildefonso today. Wind is SE 10kts, swell 2ft, mostly clear skies and air temp 34C. Diving conditions today, temp at surface 28C but colder below 10m, around 24C. Viz 15m. Current moderate.

Yesterday afternoon at las animas was great and most groups got to see the schooling hammerheads. Overnight transit smooth and we did two dives at the north end of San Ildefonso this morning, both good dives.

First dive had lots of jellies at the surface but nice reef, a couple turtles, reef fish, morays, lobsters. Second dive we did at a different site and it seemed a little better, more fish around, an eagle ray, slipper lobsters, electric rays. Overall, pretty good, conditions a little better than at Coronados.

After dive 4 this afternoon we’ll get underway for SPM planning to arrive mid-morning tomorrow and do 3 day dives plus night dive tomorrow. Taco night tonight while we cruise north.
