The NGL is in Cerralvo Island. This morning, we were in La Reyna for one dive but weather wasn’t good to stay in that site It was too windy and choppy, so we only did one dive and ran away to Cerralvo Island to get shelter.
The day started with 14 Kt. wind from WNW and swells from SE about 2 – 3 ft. High waves and current from South.
The snorkelers couldn’t do this site because the bad conditions but the divers did it. They saw lots of reef fish, some sea lions, but they struggled to stay around the dive site. Water temperature was 23°C and visibility was not too bad, around 50 ft. But it was difficult to swim around the sea mound.
We then moved to the Carpenter’s rock in Cerralvo island, conditions were better in this area, current was moderated going south, water was clear, about 45 ft of visibility. Water temperature was a little warmer, 24°C but there was a thermocline of 19°C.
The divers saw, many reef fish, some garden eels, and one rock fish. They liked the site. The group of snorkelers liked the site too.
