Captain’s Noon Reports – Explorer – 2024-10-31

Nex was searching near south part of Isla margarita about 12nm offshore. Weather was good today. Mostly around 8-10kts on average picking up in the afternoon to 12-15, with a 3-5ft swell most of the day. Clear skies, air temp 25C.

Action was slow early in the morning but around 0930 it started picking up and then it was really good all day. A lot of bait balls, some big ones, lots of marlin, quite a few whales around, loads of bottlenose dolphins all over the place today, sealions in the mix as well.

We were spotting big bait balls on the surface before the birds even got to them. So, all the guests had some great jumps today.

Tonight, we are anchored at Cabo Tosca at south end of the island closer to the action for tomorrow. NUS and NGL here also.
