Captain’s Noon Reports – Explorer – 2024-11-05

NEX anchored near Fondeadero today. Wind is around 10-12kts from the NW, nice in the anchorage with a tiny bit of swell wrapping around. Mostly clear today and air temp around 28C, water temp 26C.

Arrived last night with Southern Sport also here. They moved up to the Boiler this morning so we’re diving here alone.

Checkout dive at Fondeadero was nice, one giant manta around that most people saw and a pod of dolphins was nearby, many people did get to see one dolphin who wasn’t as shy as the rest of the pod.

Next dive was at Canyon and it was good but not great. Viz dropped a little and not a lot of action, current was from the west so not ideal for Canyon. Some sharks around but no hammerheads or mantas. Doing dive 3 right now.

Viz on dive 1 excellent around 25m, on dive 2 a little lower around 12-15m.

Plan is stay anchored here tonight and move to the Boiler for tomorrow, then out to RP following day.
