Captain’s Noon Reports – Explorer – 2024-12-10

NEX at anchor at Cabo Pearce 95 ft depth 3 shots out. Weather: Windy 13-18 kts NE, 2-3 ft seas inside the bay, 3-5 ft off the finger point. Clear sky. Air temp 26 C.

Yesterday at Punta Tosca We did only 3 dives as guests didn’t want to go for the last dive and rather stay onboard and have a relax time. After that we moved to Cabo Pearce for dive today.

This morning dives has been amazing, Mantas and dolphins on both dives. Wind is strong and seas are choppy off the point and north of the finger but underwater is a different story. Water temp is 25C viz, was around 15-18 mts and no current.

But Mantas, 3-4 mantas in first dive and like 10 dolphins made the dive amazing for our divers. Some silkies and a couple of Galapagos sharks, and reef fishes, but everyone’s eyes were on the dolphins and mantas.

Second dive more of the same a pod of like 15 dolphins some of them very playful, 4 Mantas, and a couple of hammerhead sharks. All divers came back to the boat super happy, specially one of them that she said she danced with the dolphins.

We have two more dives to go. We will go to the Canyon at San Benedicto after dinner, as it will be a rocky run.
