Captain’s Noon Reports – Explorer – 2024-12-15

Diving San Benedicto, we arrived this morning around 0100.

Wind is doing 12 kts NE, air temperature is 75F, there is a long 1-foot NE swell, clear skies, lots of sun, there is no current and the underwater conditions are really good, visibility averages 100Ft, water temperature is 76F.

Marine life is abundant here, just in the checkout dive when we had the first group of divers in the water doing their weight check a pod of dolphins came next and under the boat, they were hunting on the horse eyed jacks that come and hide under the Explorer.

Then in the second dive in the Canyon dolphins came again, the cleaning station was full of sharks, Galapagos, silver tips, white tips and a handful of silky sharks, Imanol says he got to see 5 different mantas.

Guests came up cheering and happy to see what this dive site has to offer and is only the first day.
