Captain’s Noon Reports – Under Sea – 2024-12-24

Diving Boiler, anchored in 120ft of water, we are at the Boiler. Wind is doing 10 kts NW, air and water temperature are 76F, no current today so far, visibility average 75Ft of water, but in first dive they say vis was around 25ft.

The Boiler is providing us with good diving and good underwater conditions. As soon as they went down two mantas were there to greet the divers, Stein says he saw a group of six mantas at the same time, some say they saw a tiger shark, others claim it was a huge Galapagos shark, lots of white tip reef sharks, tons of lobster, doing safety stop two wahoos went by, diving is good.

The check dive was okay but not great, they were able to see a manta, some sharks and rays, lobster and same discussion some say tiger other say Galapagos……Guests happy.

The surge is immense at least 10 Ft NW with long period but it crashes on the island with a big force spraying the whole side of the island, that along with tons of ashes makes visibility low in the Canyon / Leather Bass Alley. Boiler has better conditions, clear skies.
