Roca Partida. anchored in 245Ft of water, cloudy day early morning and clearing up with the passing hours. Light NW winds and a long 4Ft NW swell, air temperature is 71F, ocean today is 75F, visibility they say is in excess of 100Ft, weird currents, to the south then to the west then to the north, just weird boat keep pointing a different direction.
However underwater divers have no problem moving around just weird. North corner full of sharks like Galapagos, silver tips and some silkies, balconies full of white tip sharks and lobster they live together minding their own business. The jacks are not around today looks like the full moon is affecting some of these fish and probably they are deep or just off the rock.
Since dive day 1 I been meaning to say about the Orcas the guests saw from the boat while having their surface interval between second and third dive, the orcas were aways from the boat and a guest with a telescopic lens was able to capture the action, I asked him to share a picture but so far, no luck.
So today between first and second dive here at Roca Partida we were able to see whales, we saw them breathing and after a little while they started to jump clear out of the water, we ran, got in the skiff and went to have a closer look, almost all guests went.
Coming back to the boat after the whales (humpbacks mom and a small one) a manta leapt out of the water right in front of the skiff for the guests…. NICE.
In a different note Joshua proposed to Erika he did it in one of the Boiler dives, imagine being surrounded by mantas and sharks and a man brings out the ring, popped the question……….what do you do? Just say yes….. Mike bought them a champagne bottle. Happy dive HAPPY LIFE…
