Captain’s Noon Reports – Explorer – 2025-01-20

NEX at anchor at Roca Partida 240 ft depth 4 shots out. Fair Weather: NNE Wind 10-15 kts, with 3-5 ft seas. Partly cloudy sky. Air temp 21C.

We had great dives yesterday at Cabo Pearce, playful Mantas the whole afternoon, Silky, silvertips and some Galapagos sharks, even one of the groups saw a tiger shark.

After dinner we depart to Roca Partida, was a nice ride, some sporadic big swell that make the boat roll. Once when we arrived at Roca and dropped anchor it got better.

We have done 2 dives so far, good dives with playful mantas, they were 5-6 of them, showing off their skills to our divers, a school of big eye jacks, silvertips sharks and the local reef whitetip sharks, there some dolphins too nearby the rock, divers could hear them but they didn’t come closer. Skiff drivers could see them though.

Two good dives so far. There are a couple of whales in the distance like 1-2 nm from the rock, we´ve seen breach. We are going to do 1 more dive as there is the NBA and Rocio del mar here too. We will depart to Cabo after dinner.
