Captain’s Noon Reports – Under Sea – 2025-01-20

Boiler today, 3 shots of chain and a heavy anchor holding the motor vessel UNDERSEA HUNTER in place here at the BOILER, day is beautiful cloudy skies with lots of sun, light NW winds, long 6Ft NW swell.

We have a deployment of the armed air force of SAN BENEDICTO, (dozens of booby birds are sitting on the boat) we just keep cleaning guests having a great time trying to photograph the birds.

Air temperature is 72F, ocean is 75F, strong current to the south in first dive, no current in second dive, visibility average 90Ft.

Both dives have been amazing they say, lots of dolphins in first dive all guests got to see them and they forgot about mantas, the interaction was good and dolphins stayed for the whole dive.

Second dive many many mantas they say, some saw a tiger shark, dive guides say it was a big one 4 meters. Some were able to see hammerhead sharks and Galapagos, lots of life around this outcropping rising from the bottom and almost all the way to the surface.
