Working as a guide in Laguna San Ignacio has been one of the most enriching and unique experiences of my life. This corner of Baja California Sur, considered one of the most impressive natural sanctuaries on the planet, is not only a place full of history but also teeming with wildlife that takes your breath away. It’s a privilege to be back in this place, and yesterday was my first time this season I went out to sea again. My heart was filled with joy as I saw the gray whales once more, because being a guide here is an experience that goes beyond just work. It’s a calling to witness one of nature’s most amazing events: the migration and birth of the gray whales in one of the most remote locations. Every day, as I’m on the lagoon, I can’t help but feel grateful to be part of something so incredibly magnificent, and I can’t wait to see how the whales will surprise us this year.
