Captain’s Noon Reports – Explorer – 2025-02-09

NEX at anchor at Canyon, San Bendicto Island 50 ft depth 2 shots out. Weather: 6-8 kts N wind, 1-2 ft seas on the dive site. Clear sky. Air temp 22 C. Sharing the site with Valentina. We arrived this morning to Canyon as there were 3 boats Valentina, Solamar V and Adventure were already here, but Solamar V and Adventure left to Boiler.

We started with our check dive at Fondeadero, were fine. It was a bad visibility dive for most of divers, they saw 1 Black Manta some sharks, slikies, Galapagos and reef white tips.

First dive was a mild current from north, water temp 22C and viz 5-7mts. Second dive was better, as there were 4-5 mantas around, and more sharks. Some dolphins passing by but only skiff drivers could see them. This time current was from North, viz 12-15 mts and temperature 22C.

We are 2 more dives to go this afternoon. We will stay tonight here at anchor and tomorrow morning depart to Boiler.
