Captain’s Noon Reports – Explorer – 2025-03-21

NEX at anchor at the Canyon on 50 ft on water, 2 shots out. Today light north winds, partly cloudy sky, there is a Westerly swell 1-3 ft at the canyon. Air temp 22C.

We just arrived to the Canyon coming from the Boiler, there at the Boiler the swell was higher 4-6-7 ft making a bit difficult embark/disembark the skiffs. We moved this morning to the Boiler, did 2 dives there.

Dives wasn’t bad but there wasn’t what the boiler we have used to. There were 2 mantas in the first dive, a couple of sharks, reef fishes and when everybody were at the surface a couple of dolphins passed by. There was a mild current to the NW. Water temp was 23C and viz 20 mts.

Second dive was kind of the same, one of the groups could saw 2 hammerheads, besides the couple of mantas. Finishing the dive, I decided to come back to the Canyon as yesterday was really amazing, lot of sharks at the cleaning station and mantas.

We will do 2 dives in the canyon. We will depart tonight to Cabo San Lucas.
