Captain’s Noon Reports – Explorer – 2025-05-22

NEX at anchor on 245 ft of water at Roca Partida, Wx: NNW wind 10-14 kts, NW seas 3-5 ft. Clear sky, Air temp 22C. Water temp 23C.

We arrived this morning to Roca Partida, and we got a surprise that the private yacht Voyager was here already, talked with them and they say they were going to do 4 dives and they will start at 7am, making us change our plans as they didn’t want to change their schedule.

Contacted Conanp and they say there was no rule for private yachts going after the permitted boats. So we jumped at 8am for first dive.

It was a good dive, 3 Mantas, many sharks, a lot of reef fishes and a couple of tunas. There was no current and viz was 20 mts. Second dive was a good dive too, 4 mantas most of the dive, more sharks, a small school of tunas, water conditions the same.

Planning to do 1 more dive and we will depart to the Boiler in San Benedicto.
