NEX at anchor at The Boiler on 115 ft of water, 2.5 shots out, Wx: N´ly light winds, NW seas 2-4 ft. Clear sky, Air temp 23C. Water temp 23C.
We arrived this morning to The Boiler, San Benedicto Island. The place was just for us. Then Rocio del Mar showed up.
First dive, best dive of the season! It started normally, with some mantas around, a school of bonitos, later on a pod of 8 dolphins arrived chasing the bonitos playing with the divers, they were having a great time watching the dolphins and mantas.
Suddenly, a huge dark silhouette passed by, a Humpback whale! All divers were able to see the whale, it was passing around, the whale passed close to some of our divers, they forgot about the mantas and dolphins. When they came out of the water they were hyped. Even our dive master was excited.
Water conditions were good, viz 20-25 mts, no current.
Second dive was amazing as well, only the first group could see the humpback whale again passing by getting lost in the blue. 4 mantas, 3 hammerheads, Galapagos sharks, same school of bonitos. Same water condition. We are having a great day.
Planning 2 more dives here then we will move to the Canyon for tomorrow´s dives.
We had really good dives though.
