Captain’s Noon Reports – Belle Amie – 2025-05-27

NBA at anchor in El Cañon, San Benedicto Island, depth 45 ft. 2 shots in the water, weather conditions are windy, sunny day and clear sky, air temp 24°C, inside the bay is choppy wind NW 15-18 kts, sea state SW 1-2 ft.

First dive of the day, water temp. 21°C, Vis +15 mts. lots of marine life around the diving site, guests see Galapagos, black tips, white tip, silky and hammer head sharks, and most of the groups see the tiger shark around.

During the second dive of the day,  the wind increased a lot so the ash from the island get to the water and the vis decrease around 10-12 mts, water temp. 21°C. During this dive guests had mantas in addition all the species of shark seen in the past dive, no current, and guests are at lunch right now.

The plan for this afternoon is doing 1 dive at Lava Flow and 1 more at El Cañon.

Yesterday we did 1 more dive at Punta Tosca, where the conditions of current and wind increase, so we did a more conservative profile near to shore in the inner bay where the guests could see silky sharks and a few baby white tips and enjoy from the topography underwater with the rock formations. After third dive, we went to Bahia Vargas Lozano to do Navy inspection.
