Captain’s Noon Reports – Explorer – 2025-07-02

NEX at anchor in Punta Tosca on 90ft depth, 3 shots out, stuck away of strong winds. Winds 10-14kts NW, Swell 1-2 ft so smooth, Cloudy day, Air temp 22C, Water temp 23C, Vis 10-15mts depend on depth of the dive.

Yesterday, the dives were nice, a couple of mantas arrive to the dive site, four or more turtles in the area, and Galapagos sharks. After the third dive we proceed to Navy inspection was by radio and then we proceed to take cover of the wind in Bahia Braulia.

Today morning, we move to Punta Tosca to take better cover of the storm. The diving this morning was calm, despite the occasional strong gusts. We didn’t see any manta rays, but we did see a couple of turtles, a couple of large octopuses, and many fish and other species on the reef. It’s cloudy and visibility isn’t the best.

We’ll do two more dives in the afternoon and hope the weather conditions improve. Not all guests are participating in the dives; some people prefer to be on board.
