Captain’s Noon Reports – Under Sea – 2025-07-08

NUS Searching for Mobulas and orcas. Weather 6-9 kts SE winds and 2-3 ft seas, sunny day with clouds over main land. Air temp 33 C.

We just received a report for a sperm whale and Ziphius 15 NM SE from Punta arena and we are heading that way to try to find them.

This morning, we started from la Ventana bay searching for mobulas to Punta arena and a bit north, it was quite for mobulas we couldn’t find any, but we could see a pod of dolphins, guests jumped in the water to interact with them twice.

They were out for a few hours in the rhib, they also saw some sea turtles and a sail fish. No luck with mobulas and orcas.

Guests are now having lunch and taking a break from the sun. We are planning for this afternoon to search for the sperm whale and Ziphius and then go back to the north searching for orcas.

Yesterday afternoon we did a dive and snorkel in Carpenter Rock, guests liked as there was a lot of life, a lot of reef fishes.

It was a quiet day yesterday.
