Captain’s Noon Reports – Under Sea – 2025-07-26

NUS Searching for mobulas and orcas Calm Wind, Calm Seas. Air Temp. 34 C, Clear sky. Hot and sunny day.

We are in search for Mobulas, Orcas, Dolphins and any other kind of whale. We did a morning dive at la Lobera in San Francis Quito, which has turned to be great as there were very playful and sociable sea lions playing with our divers and giving them some hugs. Also lot of nudibranchs, blennies and macro life as well as lot of reef fishes.

At the end of the dive, a small pod of dolphins were swimming around the rock among sea lions and it was a good show, some divers jumped back in the water for snorkel.

After that we started to go out to search for any dolphins and whales in San Jose channel and then start going south to Espiritu Santo to search. We haven’t found any good, some single dispersed mobulas breaching but nothing else.

In the meantime guests had used this time to clean their dive gear and having a break in the lounge and some of them taking naps in their room.

Plan for today is to go out search around Espiritu island and then take guests to walk on the beach, with some drinks and beers and watch the beautiful sunset.

This trip has been amazing, guests had enjoyed it so much, they are so happy.
